About Us

PADANG Lutheran Christian Relief was founded in 2005 in Canada by Sudanese born Canadians who were overwhelmed with the needs currently being experienced by the populations in Southern Sudan. Named PADANG, which is the Dinka (Sudanese tribal language) word for "different peoples coming together to fulfill a common goal."

PLCR is a registered Canadian charitable organization based in Vancouver in Canada with field office in Malakal in Southern Sudan. Funding comes from the people of goodwill, Churches, private foundations and partners.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Padang Lutheran Christian Relief is to provide relief and development projects to people in needs regardless of race, color and gender or religious beliefs.

OUR STRUCTURE AND ACCOUNTABILITY

PLCR is led by the teams that include the Executive Director as well as staff members. The staff members are accountable to the Executive Director who is accountable to the Board of Directors. While these teams lead in the day-to-day operations through the Executive Director, they are accountable to the Board of Directors who meets regularly to guide the organization and ensure that the objectives of the organization are being met. The board also monitors the finances to ensure that the organization is health and those donors are ensured a maximum impact and return on their investment.
